Jesus Christ

“Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, who came into the world full of grace and truth, revealing the love of God and giving hope, salvation, and eternal life to those who believe in Him.”

🌿  Jesus means “The Lord saves.”
His name reflects God’s salvation, grace, and hope for humanity.

The name Jesus Christ comes from the Hebrew name Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ), which means:

“The Lord saves”
or
“Yahweh is salvation.”

The meaning points to His mission in the Bible — to save people from sin and bring them into relationship with God.

🌿  Christ means “the Anointed One” or “Messiah.”
It is the title given to Jesus as the One chosen and sent by God to bring salvation and reveal God’s truth to the world.

The word Christ is not Jesus’ last name.
It is a title.

Jesus Christ — “Christ” comes from the Greek word Christos (Χριστός), which means:

“The Anointed One”
or
“Messiah.”

In the Old Testament, kings, priests, and prophets were anointed with oil as a sign that they were chosen by God.
Jesus is called the Christ because He is the One chosen and sent by God to fulfill His plan of salvation.

So:

  • Jesus → “The Lord saves”
  • Christ → “The Anointed One” / “Messiah”

Together, Jesus Christ can be understood as:

“The Savior sent by God.”

Immanuel

Immanuel means “God with us.”
It is a name pointing to Jesus Christ, revealing that God came near to humanity with love, grace, truth, and salvation.

Immanuel (also spelled Emmanuel) means:

“God with us.”
The name comes from the Hebrew:

  • “Immanu” → with us
  • “El” → God

In the Bible, this name points to Jesus Christ — God coming into the world and dwelling among humanity.

The Gospel says:

“They shall call his name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us).
— Gospel of Matthew 1:23

Christian

Christian means “follower of Christ.”
A Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ, follows His teachings, and walks in faith and relationship with God.

A Christian is a person who follows Jesus Christ and believes that He is the Christ, the Son of God, and Savior.

The word Christian means:

“Follower of Christ”
or
“Belonging to Christ.”

The Bible says:

“The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
— Acts of the Apostles 11:26

A Christian is not only someone who knows about Jesus, but someone who seeks to:

  • Believe in Him
  • Follow His teachings
  • Walk in faith
  • Live in relationship with God

Gospel

Gospel means “Good News.”
It is the message of God’s love and salvation through Jesus Christ, bringing hope, grace, forgiveness, and eternal life to those who believe in Him.

The word Gospel means:

“Good News.”

In Christianity, the Gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ — His life, teachings, death, and resurrection — and God’s salvation through Him.

The Gospel teaches that:

  • God loves the world
  • Humanity is separated from God by sin
  • Jesus came to save and restore
  • Through faith in Him, people receive grace, forgiveness, and eternal life

The first four books of the New Testament are also called the Gospels:

  • Gospel of Matthew
  • Gospel of Mark
  • Gospel of Luke
  • Gospel of John

These books tell the story of Jesus Christ and His message to the world.

Evangelism

Evangelism is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
It is the act of spreading God’s love, grace, truth, and salvation, helping people come to faith and relationship with God.

Evangelism means sharing the Gospel — the good news of Jesus Christ — with others.

In Christianity, evangelism is not simply promoting a religion.
It is sharing God’s love, grace, truth, and salvation through Jesus Christ.

Jesus said:

🌿 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
— Gospel of Mark 16:15

Evangelism can include:

  • Sharing the Gospel
  • Speaking about Jesus Christ
  • Encouraging faith in God
  • Serving others with love
  • Living as a witness through daily life

“Hopefully, Beoneas.org can be a small part of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, encouraging faith, helping people grow in relationship with God, and bringing hope, grace, and faith into everyday life.”  Amen.
