Prayer

Prayer is communication and relationship with God.

It is speaking to God with faith, honesty, gratitude, worship, confession, and requests from the heart.

In the Bible, prayer is not only asking for things—it is also:

  • trusting God,
  • seeking His guidance,
  • thanking Him,
  • praising Him,
  • and growing closer to Him.

Jesus taught that prayer should come from sincerity, not just repeated words or outward appearance.

Jesus said:

“When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.”
— Bible, Matthew 6:6

Simple understanding of prayer:

  • Prayer is talking with God.
  • Faith is trusting God while praying.
  • Prayer can be silent or spoken.
  • There is no perfect human wording required.
  • God sees the heart.

“Prayer is a relationship with God through faith, trust, and communication in the name of Jesus Christ.”
“Prayer is speaking with God through faith.”
